This was a new event organised by internet based Mini City Magazine, the Mini website and chat forum. It was held at the Big Sheep at Abbotsham, near Bideford in Devon. Members of Mini City Mag (MCM)’s own club turned out in force, but unfortunately the England versus Denmark football match, combined with the bad weather and a four hour hold-up on the M5, deterred a lot of others from attending, even though they had pre-booked. However quite a few west country clubs braved the weather, and joined into the spirit of the event. The show’n’shine had three classes. Baby won Best Mini, the Wackiest Mini went to a cool pickup from Bumpstart Minis, Best Loved Rust Bucket to a battered rally Mini from Minis of Frome. Best Club Stand went to MRL Minis of Bristol. The show ended with a cruise through some of Devon’s country lanes, stopping off at some of the region’s attractions on the way.
