The Queen's Golden Jubilee Weekend - 2nd - 4th June 2002
This weekend saw two MCM events, myself, Maxine and Glenn took
part in the Mole Valley Mini Tour, and MCM members had an outing to
Littlehampton.
The Mole Valley Tour on the Sunday was great fun. We
managed 27th out of 49 teams, it was a gloriously sunny day and apart from a few
wrong turns, we completed the course with no problems.

The Littlehampton run on Tuesday started at the same place as the Mole
Valley Tour, at least three of knew where it was and it was on the A24 so
seemed ideal. We stopped off at Washington (no we didn't go via the
USA) to meet up with Sal and Tim in Fred, and then went to visit John
Cooper Garages in East Preston. They were closed for the bank
holiday, and the forecourt had posts up to stop people parking
there. That called for a nifty bit of parking in the entrance in
order to get some good pics. We only managed to fit in seven Minis
and were beginning to think it wouldn't work, but Andi took Oscar up onto
the pavement so we got the pics we wanted.
After that we went onto Littlehampton, being a bank holiday the car
park was a little crowded, so unfortunately we didn't get a pic of all the
cars together, but we had a fun day, some fish and chips, and some good
sea air, even if the sun didn't shine on us. Later we went on to a
pub in Arundel, where it started to rain, but we carried on regardless and
sat out by the river, while the Minis basked in all the attention they
were receiving from the pub's customers.
