Max and I got up early to wave goodbye to Binky as he was collected by a local garage to be kept safely in storage until the RAC arrived to pick him up.

The rest of my morning was spent holding on tightly in the back seat of Sputnik, as he demonstrated what Minis do best - ruling the bends and bending the rules - as the route included some fantastic mountain roads with hairpin bends.  He easily lost a B*W press car which had turned up for the first time that morning as car 02, to the total amazement of the journalists inside it.  Unfortunately I didn't get many photos as I was sitting in the back seat.

Nice Jag at the first checkpoint.  Second checkpoint was in a pretty cobbled square.

The final stage included a measured stretch where our average speed should have been just over 20mph.  Only trouble was we didn't see the start of it!

Lunch stop was at a nice restaurant up in the hills, and the final timed checkpoint of the 2003 Italian Job
